Carlos notices a difference in the conduit's materials. Hiare fills Izar with hot air, and Hrothulf attempts to create a healing item. They eat lamb chops and find a first aid kit. They reach an intersection and consider reconnoitering. Hrothulf gives Izar pain killer pills. They backtrack, encounter intersections, and notice a reservoir ahead. They encounter a group of people with guns and a rolling trash can that disables their electronic devices. The group is led by Corporal Jayne and offers to escort them to the Railman. They arrive at a camp where the Railman interrogates them. They share their experiences with Kamasu and seek safe passage through the tunnels. They rest and discuss anti-electric weapons before planning night-watches.
