Hrothulf confronts his brother Slenn in the tower, challenging his leadership. Slenn sits on his throne, playing banjo, wearing a modified crown with seven black iron spikes containing their father's ashes. Slenn reveals he has aligned with the Vardum, mysterious entities offering immense power through sacrifice. Hrothulf condemns this as an abomination that will destroy their people. Slenn argues he's providing stability and a homeland, offering Hrothulf a chance to join him. Meanwhile, a battle rages outside the tower. Izar, Dorinda, Sefarina, Ego, Fei, and Hiare are fighting robotic and humanoid opponents. Dorinda and Sefarina use bombs, Ego uses thorn whip and force ballista, and Izar employs magical attacks like color spray and hold person. During the confrontation, Slenn demonstrates his newfound Vardum power by immobilizing Hrothulf with purple electricity. He gives Hrothulf a final ultimatum: join him or die. When Hrothulf refuses and attempts to charge with his soul spear, Slenn reveals Hrothulf has no power in this space. The scene concludes with Hrothulf trapped by purple glyphs, sinking into a swirling mist, while Slenn watches triumphantly.
