Izar finds a book about griffons called "The Legacy of Dhund Halka." The book is mostly written in Dwarvish. Darnit finishes crafting a hammer and agrees to read the book to Izar once it's complete. Izar discovers illustrations of griffins and a stern-faced Amazonian-like woman in the book. Darnit begins reading the book aloud and learns that it's about the captain of the griffin cavalry who fights for justice and helps those in need. The final chapter is titled "The Pantheon Wars." The group discusses their plans and decides to return to the ReDream and visit the moon of Broadbeam. They establish a safe-word, "Just Charon." They plug into the ReDream and find themselves in a bustling bar. They order drinks and sit at a table with Daryo. They discuss a book and negotiate with DaryAI to access the ship's mainframe. Ego proposes a compromise involving a gadget containing Daryo's life experiences. They agree to start reading the book from the beginning. The scene changes, and they find themselves on a stage riding griffins in armor.
