The group battles feral drow scouts in a geyser-filled open space. They are confronted by a woman on a griffin who questions their purpose and seeks balance. The group experiences strange phenomena and Ego is healed using a ritual with ashes and water.
Set in
In an open space surrounded by geyser tubes, a group faces 18 feral drow scouts. Dorinda kills one drow and tends to Ego. Darnit defeats a drow, while Hrothulf uses a plasma rifle to set another drow on fire. Izar tries to touch a drow but fails. A drow attacks Hrothulf, and others start fighting among themselves. Dorinda is targeted by a dart from the north. Darnit is surrounded by three drow. Ego wakes up and realizes the situation. The group engages in a conversation with a mysterious voice. Ego slows down some drow using her hourglass power. Dorinda decapitates a drow and hides. Darnit disarms and defeats two drow. Hrothulf kills a drow. Izar and Ego face drow attacks. The voice discusses balance and death. All drow, except the one clinging to Darnit, start floating. The voice questions the group about death and balance. The voice uses a whistle to make the drow disappear and beckons the group. Dhund Hal Ka performs a ritual involving tears, water, and ashes. Ego receives healing. Hrothulf receives a waffle cone for the ritual. Dhund Hal Ka comments on the group's beliefs, and the story concludes.
