Izar fails to throw a rope to Hrothulf. Ego loses her goggles in the water. Izar asks Hrothulf to retrieve the goggles. Hrothulf, experienced in water, retrieves the goggles and swims to the surface. Darnit notices dead fish floating. Dorinda moves away from a dead squid. Darnit cleans the slimy clew and dries it with fire. Hrothulf defends the group from a bat. Ego and Izar want to save the injured bat. Ego tends to the bat's wounds and communicates with it mentally. Darnit hears a sound and draws his weapon. Water scorpions emerge from a cave. Darnit fights the scorpions and uses fire to repel them. Bats attack the scorpions. Dorinda protects Ego and encourages her to let go of the dying bat. Ego wants to use her octopus friend to stop the scorpions. Hrothulf tries to find a way to seal the hole. Freedieedi the octopus helps stop the scorpions. Ego flies away with the bat. Darnit apologizes to Freedieedi and follows the group. Hrothulf defends against a few remaining scorpions. Dorinda's gun jams. Freedieedi disappears and a giant water bear appears. Izar questions Ego's decision to keep the bat. Darnit stomps the last scorpion and the group reaches safety. Hrothulf is uneasy about another cave hallway.
