Darnit moves southward, increasing Vardumtron's blind spot. Izar reaches the treasure chest, puts the needle shell in the keyhole, and opens it. Inside, he finds a stone egg with a sapphire wave design and a parchment with "Teresias" written on it. Hiare takes the shell from Carlos while voices in Carlos' head demand the trespassers to leave. Hrothulf pleads with Vardumtron to spare Carlos and warns of the attacking crabs outside. Vardumtron's eyes turn vermillion. Darnit pulls Hrothulf back and moves towards the door. Hiare gives Izar the animal shell, which now glows with opalescent animals. Vardumtron drops Carlos and a giant squid emerges. Carlos grabs candles and lights one. Vardumtron defeats the squid. Darnit throws Barkamena at Vardumtron. Izar's shell stops glowing, and the squid asks for directions. Carlos tries to leave but the door slams shut. Vardumtron transforms into deceased bodies. A frog-like creature grabs Carlos. Hrothulf confronts Vardumtron and shatters the crown, freeing the trapped souls. Darnit reflects on his past and struggles to pick up his weapons. Carlos confronts the frogman, merges with it, and becomes a different entity. Izar dispels the tentacles and becomes a being of light. Hiare falls in a void. Hrothulf confronts his brothers, shattering statues and engaging in a duel. Darnit freezes the dragon with Chromatic Orb. His fallen friends forgive him. Izar questions why he must fight shadow and embraces being a creature of light. Hrothulf duels his treacherous brother.
