The party flees displacer beasts but discovers the cats are Gliton's possessed children when the Lord of Chaos intervenes. Using soul weapons, they split the beasts into their red-eyed true selves and purple-eyed Vardumed versions. The battle ends with Dorinda brutally destroying a purple cat with Barlow's cursed rapier, unable to release the weapon as her clew pulses ominously purple.
Group flees displacer beasts, rolling wheel east. Izar casts true strike on Violet, notices fewer beasts, then black tentacles ensnaring Amethyst and Violet. Hrothulf wields flaming watermelon's wail, taunting beasts. Ego's chain whip pulls Diamond into tentacles with Hrothgar's aid, force ballista pushes Violet back. Dorinda sniper-assassinates Violet.
**Weapon swaps:** Hrothgar (Noel) uses Izar's rapier soul blade on Diamond, seeing multiple cats, landing shriek hit turning eyes red then violet. Wiglaf (MJ) fires Hrothulf's plasma rifle, creating softball hole in Diamond's leg. Hildegar (Scott) stuck in tentacles, misses Violet with Ego's golden sword. Chi'ssek (Joel) fires Dorinda's crossbow—darts pass through Violet.
Diamond and Amethyst break free. Amethyst pins siblings against Diamond. Hildegar takes Diamond's attack meant for Hrothgar, drops sword. Amethyst knocks down Hrothgar's sword. Indigo and Orchid arrive—Indigo engages Izar with ranseur, Orchid tosses Chi'ssek 20 feet, damages ballista (3 rounds). Wheel stops upright.
**Gliton intervenes:** Declares game over, demands saving "his children" (cats) who've been "Vardumed." Success means freedom from debts.
Izar creates phantasmal Slenn, messages allies it's fake. Hrothulf's soul spear on Amethyst reveals split red/purple-eyed versions. Ego's soul spear briefly turns Orchid's eye red. Dorinda's stun pistols fail on Orchid, uses spectrum analyzer on possession. Diamond slashes Hrothgar retrieving sword—Hrothulf takes damage. Wiglaf hits Diamond twice with plasma rifle, eyes blink red. Brecca forces Hildegar to crawl away. Ibi in ouroboros armor helps Chi'ssek, scolded in Salamander.
Chi'ssek slashes Indigo with force blade—wounds close. Diamond disarms Hrothgar's soul blade. Amethyst knocks Hrothgar unconscious. Izar casts color spray blinding Orchid, takes Ego's soul spear, splits Orchid—red-eyed shreds purple-eyed. Hrothulf rages, splits Amethyst with soul spear—red-eyed devours purple-eyed. Carries unconscious Hrothgar to safety.
**Final:** Ego and Izar coordinate spear attack on Indigo, turning one eye red. Dorinda sneak attacks Indigo with Barlow's vardumified soul rapier. Indigo splits—red cat flees, Dorinda bludgeons purple cat into pulp, blood splashing her face. Hand won't release weapon, trembles as clew pulses purple.
