The party consults with Dhund Hal Kha and discovers that Dhund Hal Kha has plugged herself into the Redream for a mission. Ego investigates the problem while the rest of the party goes on a surveillance flight. They observe Whidmore's terraforming operation on Brawnheim and the Magmen guerilla forces laying siege to the work area. They also visit Thestal Halls of Heorot, a cultural heritage site for the planet.
Dorinda remembers the name "Bhodi Augur." The group discusses their next steps and decides to consult with Dhund Hal Kha. Dos reveals that Dhund Hal Kha plugged herself into the Redream and Ego investigates the issue. The party leaves for orbit around Genussa, while Ego stays on the ship. Dorinda, Darnit, Hrotholf, and Izar fly on griffons for a surveillance flight. They discover Space Station Phoenix above Magnus and a safe underground connection of tubes. They plan to fly over Whidmore's terraforming operation on Brawnheim. They reach the site and find a glasteel domed structure called Brawnheim Steamroller, where the zombie army is presumed to be. Magmen guerilla forces and Whidmore's forces are engaged in battle. In the middle of the no-man's land is the Thestal Halls of Heorot, a cultural heritage site. The group sees pillars, a hexagonal courtyard, and empty pool with mechanisms to fill it. The area appears deserted and undamaged by the siege.
